Satellite Basics

A satellite system consists of a satellite receiver, a dish, a LNB (the box of electronics on the end of the dish arm), a wall mount, and cables and connectors that connect the dish and the receiver. Some satellite systems also have a method of decoding scrambled systems.

Choose products that are designed to work together. Items designated as “universal fit” are likely not to fit anything correctly. It is usually a wise choice to spend a little more for compatible kits.
